The Dumfries and Galloway Hard of Hearing Group, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, provides support and relief to those in need by reason of being hard of hearing. The group operates across Dumfries and Galloway offering a care and maintenance service of hearing aids, through drop-in sessions, run by fully trained local volunteers, that without , the organisation would not be able to deliver it’s services. We give advice and support regarding hearing aid maintenance and managing hearing loss in the local community. The service is complementary to the services provided by the NHS and Social Work and is accessible across Dumfries and Galloway.

The group has developed into offering Basic Hearing Aid Maintenance Training sessions to care home staff, volunteers, home carers and other organisations. We also offer a drop-in service to Care Homes in the region, offering training and support to staff and managing the maintenance of hearing aids to residents that are unable to attend our usual community drop-in sessions.
